Hello and welcome to the home page for Houston based actor
and performer Cris Skelton. Be sure to check back regularly
for updates and news regarding upcoming projects.
News and Upcoming Projects:
- I performed
in the world premiere of Houston playwright Elizabeth
Keel's new work Notions of Right and Wrong for local
theatre company Mildred's Umbrella. During production
for that play, Rogue Improv joined forces with the
Austin-based New Movement Theater to form The New
Movement Houston.
- After closing the play in July, I
participated in TNM Houston's first ever Main Event
cagematch style improv tournament and proceeded with my
team to the final round.
- In early August, I co-starred
in a short produced and written by Josie Kline and
directed by recent AFI graduate Loren Gilley. In late
August, I performed improv at the Houston Fringe
Festival and traveled with Rogue to perform at Austin's
Out of Bounds Comedy Festival.
- In October, I embarked on
a 10-city improv tour of the Midwest with The New
Movement. After my return from tour, I performed with
The New Movement at Fun Fun Fun Fest, taking the Yellow
Stage for a battle rap tournament and a wild west-themed
stage show.
- On November 9th, I will be opening another
world premiere play, this time for Big Head Productions'
presentation of When the Day Met the Night (A Moosehunt
experience) by Houston playwright Leighza Walker at the
Obsidian Art Space.
- On November 11th, DiverseWorks will
see the opening of the art exhibit My Life as a Doll by
Tara Conley and Tria Wood, for which I completed
voice-over work last week.
- In early December, I will
co-star in the short play Unendurable Story for the
Museum of Dysfunction theatre festival presented by
Mildred's Umbrella.
Stay tuned for more updates!
